Putting on this sort of experience is an expensive business. We are determined to keep it free for the public which means sourcing funding through grants, sponsorship and so on is an ongoing process. Our first step on the road was getting a grant for the first stage from the Arts Council England (with matched funding from us by way of a Kickstarter).
That went amazingly well and meant that we had pre-orders for copies of the book, which also fuelled our enthusiasm for getting it out there. Our aim is for the tour to become self-supporting as word spreads and our audience grows, so we are working on an exclusive range of merchandise featuring the illustrations and quotes.
